Alaskan Cruise

After our wedding on Saturday 7/21, we had a car take us to the Bush Intercontinental Airport in Houston where we grabbed some shut in for a few hours before our flight. Our flight left at 7:00am, arriving in Seattle just before 10:00am. We gathered our bags and got in line for the bus transfer down to the cruise docks. I can't remember if we pre bought this or if we bought it there at the airport.

Once at the cruise terminal, we were able to get checked in, through security and onto the boat. We headed up to our room which was a balcony room up near the front of the ship, room B259. We then continued to explore the ship before returning to our balcony to watch departure and see Seattle from the water! The rest of the day we got our sea legs and enjoyed our first night on the boat!

This was a full day at sea were we could explore the boat and all it has to offer. There was a fruit carving and bar tending demonstration in the morning that was fun to watch. The rest of the day, we just lounged on the boat and enjoy all it had to offer. We chose to do anytime dining and enjoyed dinner in the dining room for us and probably hit up one of the shows after dinner.

We woke up the next morning to the site of mountains outside our balcony and we shortly saw Ketchikan come into view (the right side of the boat was great for watching this). We exited the boat shortly after the announcement said we could to explore Ketchikan a bit before we had to meet for our zip lining adventure. We zip-lined with Alaska Canopy Adventures and they did a great job! After making it back to the boat, in early afternoon, we grabbed lunch and then relaxed on our balcony until the boat left and we continued on our journey. On our way out of the port, we saw our first whales of the trip but more on them later!
